Under the Taurus Full Moon, Let Yourself Receive
Oct 19, 2026October 25–26, 2026: the Hunter’s Moon, sacred bull traditions, and a meditation for self-worth and abundance.
Someone offers to help, and the words are out before you've even thought about them.
“I’ve got it.”
And you probably do. You know how to handle things. You’ve had plenty of practice.
But later, when you finally sit down, you wonder why you’re so tired—and when someone might take care of you for a change.
Receiving can bring up more than you expect. A compliment arrives, and you explain it away. A free afternoon opens, and you fill it. Something good happens, and you’re already thinking about what needs your attention next.
There can be a gap between wanting a fuller life and allowing yourself to enjoy one.
The October 25–26, 2026 Full Moon in Taurus gives us a timely way to explore that gap!
Taurus is an Earth sign associated with the body, self-worth, pleasure, and abundance. During this Full Moon, the Sun stands opposite it in Scorpio, a sign linked with trust and change.
Together, they give us a useful pair of questions:
- What are you holding on to?
- And what would you like to experience instead?
That could be love we let ourselves receive. Rest we actually take. Money we feel comfortable asking for. Joy we make time for while life is still a work in progress.
The laundry can remain a work in progress, too.
And there’s an older story I want to bring into this conversation: a sacred bull who lived near an Egyptian temple, wore a sun disk in works of art, and took part in ceremonies of renewal.
We often talk about Taurus as stubborn. The history of the bull gives us much more to explore: strength, fertility, the care of living things, and the return of life.
We’ll explore those older stories alongside this October’s themes, beginning with when the Full Moon arrives and what Taurus and Scorpio represent. The question running through it all is simple: what would help us feel fully alive in the lives we’re building?
When Is the October 2026 Taurus Full Moon?
The October 2026 Full Moon in Taurus peaks on October 26 at 4:11 a.m. UTC, which is October 25 at 9:11 p.m. Pacific time. Also called the Hunter’s Moon, it arrives just after Scorpio season begins, with Venus and Mercury both retrograde. Here are the local dates and times for the same worldwide peak:
- Los Angeles: Sunday, October 25, at 9:11 p.m. PDT.
- New York: Monday, October 26, at 12:11 a.m. EDT.
- London: Monday, October 26, at 4:11 a.m. GMT.
- Paris: Monday, October 26, at 5:11 a.m. CET.
- New Delhi: Monday, October 26, at 9:41 a.m. IST.
- Sydney: Monday, October 26, at 3:11 p.m. AEDT.
These times use timeanddate’s published peak of 04:11 UTC. The Moon appears nearly full on the surrounding evenings, too. Around local sunset, an open view toward the eastern horizon offers a chance to watch her rise.
Taurus Moon Opposite Scorpio Sun: Release and Receive
In tropical astrology, this Full Moon places the Taurus Moon opposite the Scorpio Sun.
Taurus is an Earth sign associated with the body, money, pleasure, and personal values. Scorpio is a Water sign associated with trust, intimacy, shared resources, and change. Both are fixed signs, which means steadiness and staying power are part of their nature.
Staying power helps us keep promises and build meaningful lives. It also helps to check what we’re staying with. A habit can feel familiar long after it has become tiring.
This Taurus–Scorpio pairing gives us room to look at both the habit and what could change.
Perhaps we’re ready to pause before saying yes. Perhaps a money conversation would help create a fairer arrangement. Perhaps we want to enjoy something we keep saving for the day everything is finished.
There will always be another load of laundry. We can still take the walk.
For me, that’s the value of working with the Moon: taking an honest look at our lives, then doing something with what we notice.

What Makes This October Full Moon Different?
Several astrological events meet around this weekend:
- October 23: The Sun enters Scorpio.
- October 24: Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio.
- October 25: Venus, retrograde since October 3, moves back into Libra.
- October 25–26: The Full Moon peaks in Taurus.
Venus rules Taurus in astrology and is linked with love, beauty, pleasure, money, and values. With Venus retrograde, I’m taking time to review what feels worth my energy now.
I use Mercury’s retrograde as a reminder to give conversations more care. We can ask what someone meant, check an agreement, or take time to find the words for something that matters.
A Guided Practice for This Full Moon
I’m Crystal Heinemann, founder of The Psychic Soul, a spiritual wellness brand and app focused on meditation, intuition, and taking responsibility for our own energy so we may gain tools to thrive in this body and life.
I create guided practices that help us bring these reflections into everyday life. For this Taurus Full Moon, I’ve created a meditation centered on grounding, self-acceptance, and opening to abundance.
Through breath, Earth and Moon imagery, and affirmations, we’ll make time to settle into the body and reconnect with our own wisdom. You can choose a comfortable position and follow along in your own way.
Hunter’s Moon Meaning: Preparing for What Comes Next
The Hunter’s Moon follows the Harvest Moon, the Full Moon closest to the September equinox. In 2026, the Harvest Moon fell in September, giving October’s Full Moon the Hunter’s name.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac describes its ties to Northern Hemisphere hunting traditions and preparing food for winter. After the harvest, open fields made animals easier to see, and people gathered provisions for the colder months.
People were thinking ahead and gathering what would sustain them. Today, our preparations might include sharing responsibilities, making time to rest, or choosing which commitments deserve our energy. What would help us feel ready for the months ahead?
For those in the Southern Hemisphere, this Moon arrives in spring. The seasons differ, while the need to care for our lives remains.
The Sacred Bull: A Story of Strength and Renewal
Taurus is one of the oldest recognized star patterns, according to NASA’s Chandra constellation guide. Across several ancient cultures, the bull became a symbol of strength and fertility, closely tied to farming, herding, and the continuation of life.
Ancient Egypt gives us a vivid example of how a bull became part of sacred life.
Near the temple of Ptah in Memphis lived the Apis bull. This was a real animal, chosen for special markings that included a white triangle on the forehead. The bull took part in ceremonies linked with fertility and renewal. In art, Apis often wore a sun disk between his horns.
When an Apis bull died, he was honored and buried. Another bull with the required markings was chosen, and the tradition continued. The Metropolitan Museum of Art records these details in its collection.
Apis belongs to Egypt’s own religious history. Our Full Moon practice is a modern one, and I find something worth reflecting on in this older connection between strength and renewal.
What kind of strength helps us thrive? Sometimes we need to follow through. Other times, we need to speak honestly, accept help, or change a plan so our energy has time to return. Knowing which one we need is a practice in itself.
When Receiving Takes Practice
Receiving has been personal work for me.
In my previous career as a private flight attendant, I could sense what people needed and respond quickly. On one flight with a Prince of Qatar, I’d been told to avoid eye contact or conversation. When he struggled to get warm, I found myself face to face with him, rubbing his arms to help, and both laughing hysterically.
So much for the eye-contact rule.
Offering care came naturally. Asking for it in my own relationships took more practice. Some friendships ended when I spoke up, and there’s grief in that.
My responsibility now is to ask earlier and notice how people respond. I’m making room for care that goes both ways.
That experience shapes how I guide others. I value practices where we can listen to ourselves, make our own choices, and welcome care, love, and support.
A Taurus Full Moon Meditation for Self-Love and Abundance
We begin by settling into the body, following the breath, and bringing attention to the heart. Before anything else, we offer ourselves acceptance as we are.
Then we imagine Gaia, Mother Earth, extending a golden root toward us. It connects with the feet and base of the spine, offering an image of steady support as we release tension and emotional weight.
During the Full Moon energy activation, we picture Earth energy rising and moonlight flowing down. They meet through the heart as we welcome love, abundance, and joy.
Follow the images in whatever way feels natural to you. You might picture them, sense the connection, or simply rest and listen.
Abundance can include money and material comfort. It can also include warm relationships, creative ideas, time for something we enjoy, and enough energy to take part in our lives.
The affirmations bring us back to our own worth:
I am my greatest love story.
I confidently stand in my power.
I thrive simply by being me.
I welcome abundance and bliss into every aspect of my life.
At the end, we release Gaia’s connection and form a new grounding thread from our own energy. We’ve had time to receive, and we return connected to our own choices.
At The Psychic Soul, we practice noticing our energy and choosing how we use it. Receiving, resting, and enjoying our lives belong in that practice, too.

A Simple Taurus Full Moon Ritual for Receiving
This present-day ritual draws from the meditation. Bring a journal and a few quiet minutes. A candle, flowers, or your favorite tea can help make the time feel special.
- Settle into your body. Notice the seat beneath you. Take a few easy breaths and place a hand over your heart if that feels good.
- Name what you’re ready to release. Choose one habit, worry, or commitment that’s using more energy than you want to give it.
- Choose what you want to receive. Be specific: rest, fair pay, affection, creative time, help, or more joy.
- Take one step within the next day. Make the request, set aside the time, review the agreement, or enjoy the thing you keep saving for later.
Close with: “I thrive simply by being me.”
Let the ritual lead to something you can experience in daily life.
