Spirituality of Autumn Equinox

Sep 22, 2020

Fall or Autumn Equinox usually falls between September 22-23rd in the Northern Hemisphere between March 20-21st in the Southern Hemisphere.  The Fall Equinox is the turning point in the solar cycle of the fall season where the tilt of Earth is in it’s rotational orbit and in straight alignment with the Masculine Divine Star, our Sun.  The Sun crosses the equator and we experience balanced day and night, light and dark and are approximately equal.

A feeling of balance will be experienced in all aspects of self and all over the planet. Our masculine and feminine energies will be balanced, and the playing field is level for all at this sacred time. Expect great shifts at Equinox.

It’s a time to prepare for the darkness of winter that is to come; both literally and figuratively. From this point, days now begin to grow shorter and the nights get longer. While Fall Equinox marks the point of diminishing sunlight, it is also a time where we celebrate all that has come to manifest in the active, bountiful light days of summer.

The days following Autumn Equinox is a great time of recognizing and honoring not only the light aspect of us but also our shadow, healing our inner children and resting our inner self.

Lastly, Fall Equinox energy is an ascension trigger; for yourself, humanity and our Divine Feminine Mother Earth. With each passing Equinox; Spring or Fall- a new wave of balance and openings to transcend and step into more of our Authentic Selves.  How this can feel on Earth, is major shifts in your life.  Maybe you’re wanting to close out certain relationships, businesses or careers because they are no longer in alignment with who you truly are.

The couple of days that Fall Equinox falls into, may feel quite intense.  It may feel like one door closing and another opening.  Or you may feel tired, wanting to go inward.  All of these emotions are natural and you’re in alignment with Mother Earth and Father Sun.

I’ve created a Guided Meditation to best prepare you; mind, body and soul for this sacred time.  I like to create a sacred space of incense, crystals and candles.  Lay down and meditate under the fall moon.  Please share how you are spending Fall Equinox with us!
