Friday the 13th was originally a day to celebrate the Divine Feminine in all of us. A day of The Goddess. It is not a day to fear but to embrace the divine soul that you are; male or female. Lucky, lucky are we! (Can you feel me dancing in ritual celebration?)
Friday the 13th has much deeper and more sacred roots than our current superstitious fear beliefs. It was considered a day to worship the Divine Feminine that lives in us all and to honor the cycles of creation and death and rebirth. It was a day to celebrate the feminine aspects present in our lives. A day to honor our ability to create and sustain life.
Up until the patriarchal revolution, both Friday’s and 13’s were held in the very highest esteem. Both the day and the number were associated with the Great Goddesses, and therefore, regarded as the sacred essence of luck and good fortune. Thirteen is certainly the most essentially female number — the average number of menstrual cycles in a year....
